This album is in six parts, collecting 100 bridges in six categories:cross-sea bridges, suspension bridges, cable stayed bridges, arch bridges, beambridges and urban bridges. In addition to elegant pictures provided, eachbridge is also briefed in Chinese and English, focusing on their differentfeatures, problems and highlights. For each part, one brief introduction iscompiled to comprehensively comment on the bridges collected, resume innovativetechnical achievements of special significance and existing deficiencies, andpoint out the efforts to be made in the future. 

Xiang Haifan is academician of Chinese Academy ofEngineering. He was deputy chairman of International Association for Bridge andStructural Engineering(IABSE). For a long time, he has been engaged in thebridge structural theory and engineering control research. In recent years, hehas focused primarily on wind resistance of long span bridges, tall buildingsand towering structures. His achievements involve bridge vibration andbuffeting analysis, dynamic structural characteristics of bridges, wind-inducedvibration and control of bridges. He was in charge of the research on windresistance of most long span bridges in China, including Shanghai Nanpu Bridge,Shanghai Yangpu Bridge, Runyang Bridge, Sutong Bridge and so on.
